Most Outstaning Player

2024 is the Inaugural for the GCBHL Outstanding Player Presented by Dairy Queen (Dunmore Rd & Strachan Rd Locations).

The MOP is not necessarily the highest scoring, the fastest, the strongest or the best player on your team.

The MOP IS however:
  • a Team Player.
  • plays hard... always.
  • backchecks and is responsible to his teammates
  • (if a top line player), one who helps coach and mentor less experienced players.
  • (if less experienced), one who works hard and never gives up.
  • This player is a cheerleader, regardless of score.
  • a player whose presence makes the game more fun and better.

MOPs are selected by their coaches and will receive a $5 gift card to use at Dairy Queen on Dunmore Road or Strachan Road.

15U - Blazin Blueberries (1) Dane Friedt Dane is the hardest working all game every game. Best two way player on the team. Could count on him to backcheck hard every game. Dane stood out on the team with trying to motivate everyone to keep their mind in the game. Not only a great player but a great leader. He used his skill and motivation to help the less experienced players better them selves this season.
15u - Black Mambas (2)
15U - Pylons (3) Connor Schmaltz A goalie's performance can single-handedly determine the result of a game, often more so than any individual player. Connor's unwavering tenacity to be the best player on the floor every game proved impactful as he had multiple crucial saves in high-pressure situations where he was able to steal a win for our team when we were outplayed. Goalie's face a unique psychological pressure as their mistakes are usually more costly and visible than those of other players, but Connor's great saves and game-changing performances far overshadowed any occasional missteps.
15U - Mustangs (4)
