Andrew Carmichael traveled to St. John's, Newfoundland this July to complete for this third time on Junior Team Canada.
Although the trip was not as he anticipated, in the U20's second practice before the tournament, Andrew tore his meniscus and unfortunately was unable to play in the tournament. He did give it a try against Great Britain but was only able to play one shift and the pain was too much. But Andrew showed great sportsmanship and was always there encouraging his team mates on during games or in between periods. Junior Team Canada fell short in the final against an amazing Czech team.
Andrew is 1 in 4 Albertans who have play on Junior Team Canada all three years - U16, U18 and U20.
He has achieved many great accomplishments playing with Team Canada - Captain of U18 Gold Medal winning team, many great friendships, playing for country, winning two silver medals and one gold.
